This Privacy Policy explains how QPdfReader ("we", "us") collects, uses, and processes information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). The App is available in the United States and is not intended for distribution in Mainland China.

1) What the App does

QPdfReader is an AI-powered PDF reader that helps you summarize, ask questions (Q&A), translate, and extract key takeaways from PDF documents you choose to upload.

2) Information you provide

PDF files and extracted text

When you import a PDF and request AI features (summary/Q&A/translation/key takeaways):

• We upload the PDF to our server to perform AI processing.
• We may extract text content from the PDF to generate AI outputs.

AI prompts and outputs

To provide the AI features, we process:

• Your requests (e.g., questions, translation instructions)
• The AI-generated outputs shown to you in the App

3) How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Provide AI features (summary/Q&A/translation/takeaways)
• Troubleshoot and improve reliability and performance (e.g., diagnosing errors)

4) AI service provider

We use Google Gemini to generate AI outputs. Your document content (PDF and/or extracted text) may be processed by the AI provider strictly to fulfill your request.

5) Data retention

We retain data as follows:

• PDF files uploaded to our server: automatically deleted within 24 hours
• Extracted text used for processing: automatically deleted within 24 hours
• AI results (summaries/answers/translations): stored on your device

6) Sharing

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share your data only with:

• Our AI processing provider (Google Gemini) to generate outputs
• Service providers that help us operate the App (e.g., hosting), under appropriate safeguards

7) Your choices and controls

• You control which PDFs you upload.
• You can delete AI results stored on your device by deleting them within the App (or uninstalling the App).

8) Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9) Children

The App is not intended for children under 13.
